Get It Through Your Head

fds

How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your word. I seek You with all my heart, do not let me stray from Your commands. I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against you…

With my lips I recount all the laws that come from Your mouth. I rejoice in following Your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on Your precepts and consider Your ways. I delight in Your decrees, I will not neglect Your word… Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge. In the night I remember Your name, O Lord, and I will keep your law.  …If Your law had not been  my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never  forget Your precepts, for by them You have preserved my life. Save me, for I am Yours, I have sought out Your precepts. …Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and Your servant loves them. …Trouble and distress have come upon me, but Your commands are my delight. – Psalm 119:9-11, 13-16, 54-55, 92-94, 140 & 143.

Everybody thinks that memorizing Bible verses is too hard for them, too much trouble. Forget that.

original

You’re going to be memorizing something. Either it’s song lyrics, or Oscar nominations, or how many baskets Stephen Curry makes this season. You’re going to be paying enough attention to some interesting aspect of life that the minutest details will become common knowledge to you.

Know what, though? This time next year, you’ll have a hard time remembering who even played in the last 3 Super Bowls, though at the time they seemed so important. You’ll forget who your state senator beat in the previous election, though at the time you devoured every article on the race. You’ll lose track of the TV story line that used to keep you awake nights trying to figure out what was going to happen next week.

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” – John 14:26

If, instead of filling your mind with forgettable facts, you load up on the words of life, you place within constant retrieval the right word for every situation.

“One of the primary reasons for studying the Bible is to provide Him with the Word to bring to our remembrance- when we need it” – Evelyn Christenson

Don’t just read the Bible, Study it! There’s a difference.

Right along with letting the Bible become a staple in your daily diet, prayer will open your life to ongoing fellowship with God. And keep you going all day long.

It’s Now Official, USA is a Godless Country

If you haven’t heard yet, on Friday, June 26, 2015, the United States of America has now confirmed they are a Godless country.

Supreme Court rules in favor of same-sex marriage nationwide: http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/26/politics/supreme-court-same-sex-marriage-ruling/

We are living in the end times & don’t be surprised if your church gets shutdown for obeying the Bible. Jesus bless you all, stay firm for Jesus! And it will only get worse from now on.

What’s next for us born-again Christians? We need to act, there are PLENTY of businesses that support SIN. We need to stop using their services, which we, the 116 Boyz, will need to find a new website host. WordPress is showing gay pride. Here is a screenshot.

If there are businesses, movies, TV shows, etc. that we know of that are supporting sin and continue to use them. We also are in sin. Stand up for the Truth of Jesus Christ and go that extra mile of learning about the businesses that you use.

If you are reading this and you happen to claim to be homosexual and prideful of it and you say that you are a “Christian.” You aren’t a born-again Christian. If you are homosexual and your ashamed of your sin, and at the end of the day you ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, you are more likely to be born-again. Born-again Christians do not walk around prideful of their sin.

A New Button

After 3 years of being in the making we are looking to share Jesus with more gamers than just online. Our goals were to get to this point one day and now we are here. But it also means it will cost us. The new button on our website is the “Donate” button. May Jesus bless you abundantly in your giving!

“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”  – 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

We are all about Jesus and if you can’t back something up with scripture, it’s opinion. Gamers, you think about donating money, here is another thing to think about. Have you ever donated your life to Jesus? I mean let Jesus use you the way He wants to use you.

We are not suppose to test God, but in Malachi 3:10, God says to test Him in your giving (tithes & offerings)

“Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.  You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”  – Malachi 3:8-10

Where will your money be used?

  • Need to make gospel of John Bibles with a gaming theme. (https://www.ptl.org)
  • Looking to have a booth at gaming conventions to share Jesus with the gamers.
  • To pay for the travel for team to commute to each convention.
  • Help up keep the website.
  • Giveaways, we look to give back to community & give to non-believers as we share Jesus with them.
  • Host our own gaming events around the U.S. (and the world (in the future.))
  • After we complete most of this, we also are interested in making many $500 scholarships for school.
  • We are here to impact the world for Jesus Christ.

Christian Games – Will they ever be good?

untitled

Ever here a Christian say, “I’VE GOT A GREAT IDEA!!!  I bet a game about DAVID slaying GOLIATH will have all the churches TURN’T UP!!!”

…or if it wasn’t that it was some other Bible game designed to educate kids on moral principles.  While there may be a place and audience for it, don’t be surprised if your idea doesn’t take off any further than your church pews.

Many Christian game companies of the past have struggled because they missed the mark in target audience, authenticity, quality, or (the biggest one) fun.  We have no need to call out any specific games here because the web has already done a good enough job ridiculing the work of Christian game developers.

We here at SwordSharp.com believe that a great game has to first be just that, a great game.  The design must be good, the polish must be present, and the power must be evident.  If you try to design a game with a few church guys with no proven *game* development experience then, unless the Holy Spirit is designing the game for you your product will likely be as authentic as a suburban actor in a thug movie.

The team has to have the talent and experience to deliver a quality product.  The game needs to be demo’d and tested by your target audience.  Collect feedback and *don’t twist it to support your initial theories*.  If you’re going down the wrong direction, stop and change before you get too far down the wrong path.  Also, don’t feel like your idea *has* to be confined to the stories in the Bible.  It’s ok to do something different that people will enjoy and can be blessed by.  But whatever you do, don’t make your game *too different* such that you are no longer using best practices from existing popular games.  You *drastically* decrease your chances of success when you try to be *too* innovative.

While the hearts of those want to “spread good morals” are in the right place, know that stories with specific agendas in entertainment tend not to get mass success.  Try being real and relevant to your audience… and your audience *doesn’t have to be in high school or younger!*

So, will Christian games ever be good?  Well… wait til’ you see what SwordSharp.com has for you in 2015…
