Happy Fourth of July!

Not just that today is Independence Day which in other words Freedom. But look at the spiritual. Where ever you are in the world, you not be in the USA so July 4th isn’t anything to you. Well it can be, look at it as a day of freedom in Christ Jesus. We celebrate His birth (Christmas) & is Resurrection (Easter) so why not celebrate the freedom we have in Him.

Opposites Attract‏

Loving the Word of God is an acquired taste. I say that because when
you seek Jesus through the scriptures, quite frankly, sometimes He
makes statements that sound absolutely contradictory!

Consider the following:

* In order gain mercy, first you must give it. (Matthew 5:7)
* In order to find your life, first you must lose it. (Matthew 10:39)
* In order to lead, first you must serve. (Matthew 20:26)

After trying to make sense of these and several other verses, I was
lead to the story of Abraham in Genesis Ch. 22. Here, the Father of
Faith is instructed to exercise his assurance in God’s provision by
taking his beloved son, Isaac, and presenting him as a burnt offering
sacrifice. I’m thinking, “Whoa . . . . this is another
contradiction!” If a man took his child on a mountaintop today and
said he was going to slay him as a sacrifice because God told him to,
he would be arrested and probably put in a mental ward! But as I
continued reading, these clouds of confusion started to evaporate . . .

Abraham was willing to give up what he could see (a son), in order to
gain that which he could not see (a promise). Here is the reality of
Abraham’s example for us today: those that part with any thing for
God, shall have it made up to them with unspeakable advantage. And
because it is so, I need to tell you that the difference between the
life you have right now and the life you want is based on the
decisions you make and where Christ factors into those decisions.

Everything starts & stops with God. That’s one of the reasons why He
is the Alpha & Omega. Think about it: Life starts with God. Life
ends with God. However, the time between the beginning and the end
does not have to include God. And that’s why you must know it is
indeed possible to see the unseen, hear the unspoken and comprehend
the misunderstood.

Our LORD often uses statements or speaks to us in ways that initially
might make you scratch your head and wonder “Did I hear Him right? Is
that what He meant to say?” But rest assured, you’re facing a faith
test. And the best teachers never speak while the test is going on.
They just monitor progress.

Warrior’s Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Your warrior prepares for battle. Today I claim victory over Satan by putting on the whole armor of God!

I put on the Girdle of Truth! May I stand firm in the truth of Your Word so I will not be a victim of Satan’s lies.

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness! May it guard my heart from evil so I will remain pure and holy, protected under the blood of Jesus Christ.

I put on the Shoes of Peace! May I stand firm in the Good News of the Gospel so Your peace will shine through me and be a light to all I encounter.

I take the Shield of Faith! May I be ready for Satan’s fiery darts of doubt, denial and deceit so I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat.

I put on the Helmet of Salvation! May I keep my mind focused on You so Satan will not have a stronghold on my thoughts.

I take the Sword of the Spirit! May the two-edged sword of Your Word be ready in my hands so I can expose the tempting words of Satan.

By faith Your warrior has put on the whole armor of God! I am prepared to live this day in spiritual victory! Amen!

Everyday, you need to put on the whole armor of God. So print this out and pray this before you start your day.

Reason 6: Christian or Disciple? 7 Reasons Why Every Christian Should Become A Disciple

Becoming a disciple of Jesus opens the door for God’s blessing in this life.

Why would God pour out His blessings on us, if we were disobedient to Him? Surely God’s blessings are His to give, as He chooses, and it only makes sense for God to bless us when we are doing the things He tells us to. While we all love our children more than words can express, if they are disobedient they need discipline, not blessing. God deals with His children in the same way. Disciples are believers who are walking in the will of God, not in their own strength but in the strength that God supplies.

” If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11).

“Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?” (Hebrews 12:7).

” Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power” (Ephesians 6:10).
