Did I Do That?

Spiritual Gifts

But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him us it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and He gives them to each one, just as He determines.

(Ephesians 4:7, 11-13, 16; Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:11)

You already had a nice little handful of talents before you came to God. But look at you now.

God made you with an inborn set of natural abilities, things that have just always come easily to you. Maybe you have a nice singing voice or a flair for calligraphy. Maybe you’re good with numbers or can fix anything on wheels. You’ve trained these abilities, honed them. But the raw materials and understanding were built into your natural makeup. They are gifts from God in every sense of the word. Now that you’ve become a born-again Christian, though, God has given you an extra set of gifts, spiritual gifts, to equip you to play the vital role He’s given you in His church. Where natural gifts may dictate the kind of work you’ve chosen, the hobbies you enjoy, or the subjects you like most in school, spiritual gifts are designed to activate your field of ministry. They supercharge you with un-natural abilities to give, to comfort, to challenge, or to speak with boldness. They won’t take the place of the things you do well, but they will open up new vistas of opportunity and responsibility for you to be all that God created you to be.

“Every member of the Body has the potential to be and should be led and fed toward functioning as a fully equipped agent of Jesus Christ.” – Jack Hayford

Tomorrow’s Reading: God has given you an indescribable gift and the incredible experience of living in His power. But Christianity isn’t all about receiving . Are you ready to give it all?

Waiting on Jesus to Rise from the Grave

Matthew 27:50-66

50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.

51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

54 So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

55 And many women who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him, were there looking on from afar, 56 among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.

Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb

57 Now when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. 58 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given to him. 59 When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed. 61 And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.

Pilate Sets a Guard

62 On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, 63 saying, “Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise.’ 64 Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead.’ So the last deception will be worse than the first.”

65 Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.” 66 So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard.

And so we wait on Jesus to resurrect from the grave. While we wait, what will you do while waiting? Will you serve Him? And how? Will you worship Him? Will you pray & fast? Will you share the Truth about Jesus with others? So others can wait on Him.

Since we are a gaming ministry, and there are MANY unsaved gamers, well you may know we are the people who need to share Jesus with them, if we won’t, who will? Do you love them? What is love? An ACTION word.

Share with gamers about Good Friday & “Easter” Resurrection Sunday and what this time is all about. May it be through a message, or in a lobby, on Twitch, YouTube, other social media sites.

While we are waiting… We will serve You, we will worship You while we wait on You, Lord. Please enjoy this music video by John Waller – While I’m Waiting

There always is a waiting period. After Jesus’ last breath we have been waiting for His return to rise from the grave. But other times to wait on God, after praying, maybe you been praying on the same thing for a whole year. Question is, are you waiting on God? At the same time on waiting patiently you are building character.
