Small Prayers

pray-big

The world has brain washed us saying when you pray, pray big. Well, not a lot of us have a lot of big prayers so we just don’t pray at all. God doesn’t just want to hear you pray big prayers but also small prayers. Is there such thing as too small of a prayer? No!

Example: 116 Boyz Motto is: PRAY before you PLAY – Do you do that?

Whether your playing an offline or online game, you need to pray. Have you ever played a game and your trying to complete the achievements and there 1 or 2 that are very hard to complete and maybe you come close a couple times but don’t get it, then all of a sudden you RAGE in anger. Been there? I’m sure we all have. Now since you think about, now you can see why maybe you should pray. God cares if you rage and He wants to complete the game. Before you probably thought, why pray before playing a game? That’s so little. But God wants to be apart of your WHOLE life, even gaming.  After I prayed, shortly later on, I completed the achievements and not just completed but tripling my score and when I would fail, I didn’t rage.

The moral is PRAY before you do anything, BIG or small and to get you in the habit of praying.

God wants us to talk to Him often throughout our day, not JUST in the morning or JUST at night, but throughout our whole day.

If you are playing an offline game and don’t know what to pray? Pray this: Lord, help me to not rage, but enjoy the game and help me to pass the levels or achievements. Amen.

God’s Rightful Place‏

“Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in
your hearts.” – 1 John 5:21 (NLT)

When the Israelites complained about the manna God miraculously
provided, He “sent fiery serpents . . . they bit the people; and
[many] . . . died” (Numbers 21:6).  Eventually, Israel repented and
begged God to remove the snakes.  So God told Moses to make a bronze
serpent, mount it on a pole and that whoever looked at it would be
healed. It was an amazing provision, and one that worked.  So what
became of it?  The Bible says Hezekiah “Broke in pieces the bronze
serpent . . . Moses had made, for . . . Israel burned incense to it”
(2 Kings 18:4 NAS).  For centuries they preserved, protected and
polished it, dragging it with them everywhere, until they ended up
worshipping it.  Something that had once been a blessing became an
idol.

Think it can’t happen?  John the Apostle says, “Keep away from
anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.”  Anything or
anybody can become an idol: your church, your children, your mate,
your job, your home, your car, your education.  Don’t get the wrong
idea; there’s nothing wrong with enjoying these blessings.  It’s only
wrong when they attempt to take God’s rightful place!

Jesus said, “Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts
will also be.” (Luke 12:34 NLT)  And again, “For whatever is in
your heart determines what you say.” (Matthew 12:34b NLT)  Where
you choose to invest your time, energy, and money, what you talk and
think about, reveals what’s in your heart.  Christ wants to be “first
in everything” (Colossians 1:18 NLT) without exception.  Plus, when
He’s at the center of your life, everything else is just
window-dressing.
