August 2012 – Featured Gamer – BornAgain2001

753462d2-8c7d-49c8-92c7-49b0cc83bf70 BornAgain2001 is the gamer tag on Xbox, Twitch_116boyz on Playstation and 116boyz.com on Steam used by 116 Boyz founder, Daniel Beck. Daniel has made it his life mission to evangelize everywhere he goes; at work, while on the road, or even in the toughest areas of where he lives of San Francisco, California. While many people may shy away from visiting these areas due to crime and violence, Daniel has made a commitment that he will always speak the truth in love by resonating, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ” (Romans 1:16).

Born and raised in Iowa, Daniel began playing college football at Iowa Central and later transferred to a discipleship training program at The Master’s Commission in Dallas, Texas. Following his time at The Master’s Commission, he attended Trinity Bible College where he once again picked up his passion for playing college football. After college, Daniel moved to San Diego, California for 5-years, and then came to rest in the town he calls home today in San Francisco where he lives with his wife of 1-year.

Daniel has worked for Southwest Airlines since 2006 as a Ramp Agent. When asked what his ministry philosophy was, Daniel said, “I just don’t want to lead someone to Christ. We as believers must go beyond this. It’s about engaging them where they live, lead them to a Bible based church near them, and insure they are setup for success to be future disciples.”

As founder of the 116 Boyz, he wants everyone to know that this is not just a ministry about gamers who love the Lord. It’s about living by the motto “Come – Grow – Go!” (Come follow Jesus, Grow in your walk with Christ, and Go and make disciples). While this ministry is centered within a gaming community, its real identity lies within building up disciples who proudly take to the streets proclaiming “For I am not ashamed…”
